Header with Left and Right Sections that Overlap Page Elements

I would like to create a header that has a left bar and right bar that overlap the elements on the page. I cannot figure out how to make the left and right bars overlap the things that should be underneath it.

To make it overlap you will need to select absolute as initial position of your bar element.

I don’t see any options for that in the left and right sections of the header.

Actually Left and Right header are fixed in position, so that it’s visible all the time. Unfortunately what you are looking for will require quite a bit of custom development which will fall outside the scope of support we can offer.
