Header Styling Changes Unpredictably

I’ve added a Mailchimp signup form to a bar in my header. I changed the background color of the form to match my bar’s color, but every once in a while the bar will still display as white instead of blue.

Here’s what it’s supposed to look like (and often does):

Here’s how it sometimes displays, even on other computers and with cleared cache:

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Hi Stuart,

I have checked the site on multiple browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Edge but I am not able to replicate the issue that you have attached in the second photo.

Would you mind trying to load the site in private or incognito mode and see if you will still get the same issue?

if the issue persists, please let us know what browser are you using when you are getting the display issue.

Different pages display it at different times. Here’s the issue in Chrome on this page: https://www.harrymitchell.us/the-wandering-life/

The link you sent shows coming soon page.

So I checked your homepage and could not replicate the issue as well.

Can you try checking your page in Chrome Incognito Mode

Yep… says coming soon AND I think your security cert may be off as well… getting security warning.

Something to look at that “may” be why it is happening sporadically is your wanting https, as I stated above you do have a cert problem but also, i think you are calling the non secure version of js for the mailchimp form.

Although you made that CSS change for the background color in your “local” files… I’m wondering if mailchimp is calling it’s own hosted files (CSS), thus giving you the default form look / CSS.

Personally, I would fix that cert problem and then be SURE that all files that your site calls on from out side your own site / server… is for https

Thanks for helping out and providing some suggestions, @kimmikennedy.
