I used a Template to get started. Now that I’ve created headers for different parts of the site, the template header keeps overpowering what I’ve assigned. When I got into the customizer, I see that it’s still pulling from there, rather than what I’ve assigned it to.
For example: I have 4 Headers:
- Corporate Solutions
- Educational Solutions
- Membership
- Global
On “Groups” and “Activity” pages, the correct header should be “Membership”. I set Global back to “Global” and now, it’s taking the Global menu and not what I assigned to it.
Hello Trevis,
Thanks for writing in!
I have logged in and looked into the headers. Please understand that the Activity, Groups, Members and Profile were not a normal page. These were pages generated by bbPress/BuddyPress plugins. And this is why, though you have assigned a custom header, it is still using the global header. I would recommend that you assigned the designated header for the BuddyPress/bbPress plugin as the global header. You can then assign a different custom header for other specific yet normal pages and posts.
Hope this explains it briefly.
It does. Thank you.
One last question… can you direct me to a tutorial or provide information on how users can Log Out of BuddyPress? I’m looking around and I haven’t found an actual logout button yet.
Hi Trevis,
Please see the documentation below on how to retrieves the logout URL.
Also, try adding a custom link to your menu with this URL /wp-login.php?action=logout
Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third-party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X or PRO will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.
