Header menu bug

Hi team,

Today, I tried to add a second small menu to the right of my main menu. When I save the page in the builder, I get a totally different menu style, and the second menu is not there (while I can still see it in the builder). Also, any modification made in the builder (like deleting all menus or adding new ones) does not change anything when I preview the page. It’s like the menu is unassigned (while it is assigned to the entire site).

I restored my website to make it work as before, but now I tried to alter the menu and I see the same problem is persisting.

Any idea if this is a bug in the builder?

Hi Hassan,

Thank you for writing in, but the credentials provided did not work please check. And please let us know what is the title of the header in question in case you have multiple headers.

In the meantime, please try clearing all your caching plugins and caching features if any.

Cheers,

Hi Friech,

Thank you for your reply, I just saw it.

The credentials were not working because I backed up my site.

Now the issue is persevering, and I really don’t know what’s causing it. I deactivated my cache plugin (SG optimizer) for now and I still have the same issue.

Can you please take a look with the same credentials I sent before.

I will stay alert awaiting for your answer.

Thank you,

Hi Hassan,

Thanks for providing all the details!

I can’t also figure out why the menu is different in the front-end and in the back-end. There could be a plugin conflict or custom code affecting the behavior.

I recommend the following troubleshooting procedures.

  1. TESTING FOR THEME RELATED ISSUE
  2. TESTING FOR PLUGIN CONFLICT
  3. THEME UPDATE
  4. CHILD THEME
  5. CSS/JS CUSTOMIZATION
  6. VERSION COMPATIBILITY

If the issue still persists after doing the troubleshooting procedure, I suggest that you copy your live website into a staging area for further investigation.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for following up.

I’ve done all the below without detecting the issue:

  1. TESTING FOR THEME RELATED ISSUE => the Menu changes on other theme.
  2. TESTING FOR PLUGIN CONFLICT => Deactivated all plugins, the problem persists
  3. THEME UPDATE => Updated to latest version
  4. CHILD THEME => The problem persists even when switching to the main theme (not child)
  5. CSS/JS CUSTOMIZATION => Removed all the code (css/js/php), but problem still there
  6. VERSION COMPATIBILITY => current PHP version 7.3.27

I cannot stage my site because of my current hosting plan, but I have automatic daily backups which I can apply when needed. Please feel free to investigate further.

Let me know if you need anything from my side

Hi Hassan,

It was able to make your header show up, but I did not see any navigation on it so I added an inline navigation to it to test.

Anyways, the issue seems to be a conflict with Polylang if you Manage the Location of the menu (Appearance > Menus > Manage Location) that is when the issue starts. The issue was resolved when I unset the Menu Locations. Good thing you do not need to set this Menu locations if you use it on one of the Navigation element.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hi Friech,

Thank you for your reply,

Indeed Polylang seems to be causing conflict. I deactivated the plugin and ran into the same issue again. Then I deleted the plugin and noticed the header was back to normal working well like before.

I guess I’ll have to find another translation plugin. Would you mind recommending a language plugin compatible with the pro theme?

Thank you for your efforts again

Hi Hassan,

Glad that we are able to help you to find the exact cause of your issue. The WPML is one of the Supported plugin by Pro, you can try that.

Thanks

Hi Tristup,

Thank you guys for the great support. I love your builder and will definitely work on client projects with it.

Feel free to close this thread
