Header Completely Different when Logged-Out

Hi guys,

Weird problem here. My header looks fine when logged-in, and when editing it in the backend.

However, when logged-out, it’s all messed up.

To start: I do use caching (WP Rocket), but I’ve disabled it and cleared all cache. I’ve even deleted the entire cache folder, so it isn’t caching.

And even if it was caching something: I haven’t changed anything in a while. The cached version should also be the same.

I can’t figure out what’s happening.

Here’s the desktop version of the header, when logged-in:

Here’s when using an incognito window and logged-out:

Same thing, but for mobile, logged-in:

And here’s logged-out:

I added an SVG logo last week and it looks great when logged-in or in the backend. On mobile it’s completely broken. I specified a size for the parent element in the header editor, which works great.

…Except if you’re logged-out, in which case it doesn’t work at all.

I just updated everything on the site, so all plugins and themes and whatnot are up-to-date.

I also tried using the parent theme and it made no difference.

Could you take a look, please?

Hey @brianjohnsondesign,

Thanks for reaching out!

Upon checking your header on the said blog post, the header layout is just displaying correctly. Maybe it is just your browser cache, please try to clear it.

Hope that helps.

Weird, it’s working for me now, too. I tested on multiple devices earlier and was getting the same problem. Not sure exactly what was happening, but hopefully it doesn’t come back.

Thanks!

Hi @brianjohnsondesign,

It happens sometimes due to the server-level cache too, if that clears in a span of time, it starts working.

Thanks
