Header Builder Broken... and so many other things

Hi there,

I built our site www.kindmarketing.com on X in 2017 and recently upgraded to Pro. I have upgraded to Pro on other sites but for some reason, this time has been a nightmare in comparison.

The header builder is completely broken. It will pull up the tool but all the customization options do nothing.

Also super frustrating; once the new header builder is adopted over the classic headers, all the post category titles disappear.

Also, my pages no longer have the ability to set images or videos as backgrounds. All of the customization features have gone away leaving only the most basic options. The only background option I have is color.

Last thing I’ve noticed for now, images are no longer going 100% width. It shows up 100% in editor but is only showing 50% width live. Portfolio Item Sample

Samantha

Hi @KindMarketing,

I checked the front end of the website and found out some Javascript problems that might be a contributing factor.

Please kindly follow the steps below and get back to us with the results:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.

  2. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the theme options and change the theme from Child Theme to Parent Theme and see if the problem persists.

  3. I do suspect the JetPack plugin might also have a contributing factor and deactivating it might fix the issue.

Thank you.

Hi @Christopher,

Thanks for getting back.

  1. Everything is up to date.
  2. I’m not seeing the custom css or java script you’re mentioning. (All my custom CSS was actually deleted when we converted over to Pro.)
  3. We are not using a Child Theme, we are working only within the main Pro “parent” theme.
  4. Tried deactivating JetPack on our staging site and it did nothing.

All the issues I mentioned continue to exist :frowning:

Hoping you have some other solutions to get all this fixed as I’ve been at a stand still with production for two days now. Ready to start using the tools that supposedly exist.

Thanks,
Samantha

Hi @KindMarketing,

Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well? Please note that I deactivated your 2 cache plugin, and hosting’s built-in cache feature (hence, they are 3). In fact you only need 1 cache feature/plugin. More than once cause more issues.

Though, I still can’t find what’s causing this issue so I’ll have to request FTP credentials so I could try my copy, I also recommend correcting your Pro theme folder, it’s currently named as /wp-content/themes/pro-2/, it should be /wp-content/themes/pro/.

Thanks!

Changing the theme folder worked!

Thank you so much!

Really appreciate all your help!!

Best,
Samantha

You’re most welcome Samantha.

Cheers!
