Header Assignments: Categories

I’ve had this issue before (see my support topics

I have a blog post with the Category of “Photography” - which has been assigned to a custom header called “Photography”. I have applied the conditional assignment of this category but it doesn’t work.

Here is the post: https://www.martinrayvaughan.com/keeneland-morning/

In my precious support ticket on this, we really struggled. The solution was something about setting the priority number?

Thank you in advance - I have submitted my credentials in a secure note because this might be messy.

Marty

Hello Marty,

Thanks for writing in! You must have the following conditions:
1.) As an archive: “Post Category is Photography”.
2.) As a single post: “Post Type is Post” and “Post Category is Photography”.

Hope this helps.

OK, I have both of those conditions. If you look at this post (https://www.martinrayvaughan.com/keeneland-morning/) it is categorized as Photography but is still showing the Main header.
Does this have something to do with ‘Priority’ settings?

Hi Marty,

I have checked both the header and found the Priority set to 5 for both, I went ahead and set the priority to 4 for Photography header and it worked.

OK thank you. So priority ‘5’ is MOST important and overrides lower priorities? Is this spelled out in a tutorial I’ve missed?
Marty

Hi Marty,

In case of assignment the lowest priority will be used, so priority with 4 override the 5 here.

Thanks
