Header Assignment, Woocommerce Category Ancestor

Hello there, I was looking for a way to assign a header based on Woocommerce archive category ancestor. In other words, I have a parent category that I want to share a header with all of the child category archive pages. Is that possible? I saw that it is an option to assign a header based on Page Ancestor and hoped I could do something similar with product categories, too.

Update for Clarification
I would like to assign a header to a product archive page by product category ancestor. Is that possible?

In other words, if I had “Music Publisher” as a product category and five child categories (Cds, sheet music, etc), is it possible to assign a header to all of the child product archive pages by just selecting “Music Publisher”? If not, add that to the list of suggestions!

Yes, you can assign your custom Header to multiple product categories and it child category for that please follow these steps.

1. Got to the header —>Click on the Settings Icon
2. Click on the Assignments—>Edit
3. Condition -->Select Product category —>Select your Parent category
4. Click on “Add Condition Group” now Select Product category —>Select your child category
   Please have a look at the given screenshot below.

Thanks for the reply @prakash_s, but I’m not sure you understood my question.

I know that I can add additional child categories to the Condition Groups, but I’m asking if there’s a way that I can assign a header to a product archive page based on a product category’s ancestor category. Here is my actual product category structure and then I’ll explain why this is important to me.

o Everlasting Praise Publications
o o Choral Music
o o o SATB
o o o SB
o o Instrumental Music
o o o Cello Solot
o o o Piano Solo
o o o Trumpet Solo
o o Music Recordings
o o o Singalong Series
o o Music Resources
o o Vocal Music
o o o Songbooks
o o o Vocal Books

Currently, I’ve gone through and manually assigned my header to each one of those product archive category pages, but that doesn’t guarantee that whenever my client creates a new category that the header will be properly assigned. He will need to know how to add that new category to the header assignment for that product archive.

However, if I can assign a header to a product archive page based on a product category ancestor, then all my client needs to do is make sure the new category is a child of the “Everlasting Praise Publications” category, and then the product archive page will have the intended header assigned automatically.

Does this make sense? I’m pretty sure this functionality is not currently available, but can you add it as a suggestion to the team? I think a lot of people would be blessed by it.

Thank you for the very detailed explanation. Sorry for the confusion as well. Yes, you are correct. The functionality that you are looking for is not yet available. You can only assign the header to a specific category. We have noted your feedback and added this as a feature request so it can be taken into consideration for future development.
