Have dropdown menu be partially open when visiting a page

Hi there,

We’d like the dropdown menu on the left side of the page (see link) to have the first part already open when the page is viewed.

We have followed advices on some topics that were previously posted on the forum, but it hasn’t worked out for us.

Attached is an image better explaining what we’re trying to achieve.

We are also leaving the login information in a secure note. Let us know if you need any more info - and thank you in advance!

Hello Paper+Screen,

Thanks for writing in!

Please be advised that the navigation dropdown is always closed. The parent menu item should be click first before the submenu items will open. What you have in mind may only be possible with custom modifications of the element which is already beyond the scope of our support. I would recommend that you used Navigation Layered or Navigation Collapse element instead.

Regards.

Hi @RueNel,

We found a topic that asks for a similar thing, however when we tried implementing the jS it didn’t work for us.

Is it really impossible or is there something that could be done anyway? We have been using the Navigation Collapsed element from the beginning.

Hey @INcroatia,

Is there any reason why you can’t use a Headline element above the Navigation element instead? This is better as you don’t have to rely on custom Javascript. Moreover, we do not provide support for custom codes. The codes given here in the forum serve only as guides. Any issues that arise from them or any enhancements should be directed to your personal developer.

If you really wish to use custom JS, follow this reply from the same thread you posted: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/can-a-dropdown-content-menu-in-pro-headers-start-open/50250/10?u=christian_y

Again, please note that we do not offer support for custom code. If that code still doesn’t work, please hire a developer.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi @christian_y,

For some reason we didn’t even think of placing a headline above the navigation element! The simplest solution… And it looks just as we want it!

Ooof.

Thanks!

You’re welcome, @INcroatia.
