Half my page disappeared!

http://kadampanewyork.org/retreats/international-winter-retreats/find-your-retreat

This page above stopped showing half of the content all of a sudden!
I duplicated a page or two for mobile viewing and then at least half the page disappeared. (2nd half)

You can see if you view the source that there is a substantial section missing. I’m not sure how to fix this, but please let me know if you have any questions/solutions.

The problem starts on line 690 in desktop view and shows even less (to 641) in mobile view (so strange)!!

Another thing to note is that I have full editing capability of all the sections in cornerstone, but for some reason when showing published it fails to show up.

Best,
dan

Hey There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

All the best!

Hello Dan,

Thanks for writing in! When I checked the url, it does not show anything. http://prntscr.com/fv28kp
It could be that the page is a private post or you already removed it. Based on the information you gave, I am assuming that you have inserted an invalid css, unclosed html code or broken code that messed up the whole page. I can not confirm it yet since I haven’t checked the page closely. Would you mind providing us some access to we can take a closer look?

Thank you.

I did reply to you two days ago with the credentials

How does it work to send a secure note: I must’ve done it wrong…

I just published the page so you can try to view the source again!

I removed all the css and nothing changed…so it is not the css

Also the strange thing is – when I open up the file on a desktop it opens to one section and then on phone view it opens to another section. So that might be a hint.

Let me know what you think – as I have a deadline on this project.

Thanks,
Dan

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! Just for future topics, self responding or bumping your post pushes it back in our Queue system so it takes longer to respond to.

I have inspected your site and it turns out that some of the section is hidden in some screen sizes because the visibility option was enabled in the section settings. http://prntscr.com/fw6932
This is why some of the section, row or column is hidden in desktop screen or in mobile screen.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Thanks for the tip on the cue.

Can I ask you to login to my page, through cornerstone. Then you will see that it’s not just the sections you capture via screenshot, but half of my page! (hence the title of this thread). So although what you shared was correct, there are 9 other sections that have completely disappeared from my page. Please go into cornerstone with the credentials that I added in a secure note, above.

Thank you for your efforts in helping,
Dan

Hello Dan,

I have logged in to your site and I found out that you have inserted html code. When doing so, always make sure that you have properly close each of the tag especially when using <div> tags. In your case, you have two unclosed div tags.

Please correct the missing closing tags to resolve this issue.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hello,

Thanks for finding that, although it did not change the page on my end – I cleared the cache, tried in goolgle incognito and so forth. I am not sure how you found this to solve the problem from your end but I didn’t work here.

When you log into my cornerstone editor do you see how there are about 8 sections missing?

I would be happy for you to fix it yourself if you’re able. Basically it should be a lot more sections.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

The section that has the nissing divs was set to be hidden in desktop so it is not shown in desktop view.

You need to click on the mobile icon to be able to see the section and fix the html tags issue.

See screenshot

Hope that helps

Hi,

I have deleted the tags altogether, but still have the same issue. If you are not able to enter the cornerstone editor and fix it so that all the pages appear, I will have to give up and recreate the page altogether…i hope this is not the case since its been 2 weeks of trying to resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Dan

Hello Dan,

I went ahead and edited your page. All your 16 sections is now showing. The issue is that you inserted an unclosed div tag which messed up the rest of the page. You do no have to worry now: Here are some of the invalid html which has caused the issues: https://prnt.sc/g1a4yl, https://prnt.sc/g1a5k5

If you need anything else, please let us know.

Thank you very much!

You are most welcome

Cheers!
