I have created the Headline Element and assigned the tag to h1, but there is no change to the text. It also does not change with h2, h3, etc.
If I manually add the <h1> tag </h1> it does change the font. Why isn’t the tag feature working?

Thanks for posting in!
Please be advised that headline elements has it’s own default settings. After selecting the tag, you will have to set the base font size, font family and other text formats.
Hope this explains it briefly.
Sorry I should have mentioned. I’m using the X theme, not Pro. If you look at the top bar of my screenshot you’ll see it goes from Headline > Content > Design > Customize. Yours has more options, going from Text > Setup > Design > Text > …
With that in mind, how can you help me with the issue that the heading drop down tags are not working to change anything? Where can I find the default settings for the headline element?

Pro and X have same set of elements and their settings. It looks like the Advanced Mode is off that’s why you’re not seeing the advanced settings. Please navigate to X > Settings > User Preferences > Advanced Mode and select Always On from the dropdown (see screenshot)
Make sure to save the settings. You’ll start seeing all the headline element settings then you can follow what @RueNel have suggested in the previous post.
