Gutenberg Issues

Hi,

after updating to Wordpress 5 I am having some issues. When editing a post in Gutenberg, you get a gear symbol on the right that opens on click. Here you can add the post image, add categories and so on. Left of this symbol are the save options.

When I switch to edit with pro, I cannot access these functions anymore, since the gear symbol as well as the save options are not showing anymore. So after editiong a post in pro, I can´t change the post image anymore or change the categories.

I hope you can help me…

Best regards

Kathrin

Hi Kathrin,

To change the featured image, please click on the Edit With WordPress button then switch back to the Cornerstone editor by clicking on the Edit with Cornerstone button again:

You can also install the Classic Editor Plugin to restore the original post editor and opt-out of Gutenberg if you wish.

Regards!

Ah, OK, thank you very much. I didn´t dare to switch back to Gutenberg, since there is an error message. But I see this only concerns the content of the post…

You’re welcome. Glad we’re able to help.

yes good to know thanks
I keep getting failure to update messages

I wish we didn’t have to add another plugin to the list just to not use gutenberg

I think its terrible and and just don’t understand the point of making all the wordpress.org people use something that is really more suited for the wordpress.com people…no offense to either.

Hello @clefler,

We understand your sentiments. It’s WordPress who decide to make Gutenberg as their new Editor. Maybe there will be an option in the future release that you can make use of the old editor. We’ll just wait and see.

Regards.
