GTM4WP – A Google Tag Manager (GTM)

Perhaps I am missing something or not understanding this.

The latest update to GTM4WP requires the template to support woocommerce_thankyou. Does Pro theme support this. I did a quick search through the theme files and didn’t find it so not 100% sure.

Before I upgrade can you confirm Pro will support this?

!!! WARNING !!!
Significant change in WooCommerce integration!
Check your template whether it supports must have hook: woocommerce_thankyou

Hey @urchindesign,

Pro does not hook to woocommerce_thankyou so I believe there’d be no conflict with your GTM4WP plugin.

Please note though that we do not provide support for third party plugins therefore if there’d be any conflict, you’d need to consult with the plugin author or your developer.

Thank you.

Hi Christian,
can you check that pls with @charlie ?
Because the Warning says: IT MUST HAVE HOOK: woocommerce_thankyou

See Changelog for 1.21:

Thanks!

I think you just use the default woo pages with styling. I think it is applicable when you build the pages with a builder or similar.

As such I think it would work but just wanted a confirmation.

Hey @deranaloge,

As mentioned, our theme does not use the hook woocommerce_thankyou. If you need that hook, you’ll need to develop a child theme using that hook and that’s why you’d need to consult with a developer for that. Or, you can subscribe to our One support to receive customization guidance.

I understand that your theme doesn’t use the hook. However your theme also doesn’t override that page as far as I can tell in the code. We also can’t edit the thank you page in cornerstone which seems to confirm what I see in all the Pro code. It is obviously possible I missed something but as I see it my presumption is you are using the default thank you WooCommerce template. This would imply it is a non issue but I wanted it confirmed. Perhaps @charlie can confirm this?

Hey @urchindesign,

Because Pro has no override or hook to the WooCommerce Thank you template, that default WC thank you template is the only one being loaded. I’ve also forwarded this to Charlie for confirmation.

Perfect. That was what I presumed but I just wanted confirmation.

We don’t hook into the thank you hook. You can get around designing the thank you page by using the “String” expression and using what I am doing in the screenshot. Where ‘order-received’ is your thank you page slug. We’ll add in a condition specific to these checkout endpoints. Have a great day.

Thanks Charlie. That is helpful.

This was more about the confirmation that we can upgrade GTM4WP to the newest version.

You are most welcome, @urchindesign.
