Grid problem that i cant solve

Hello. I love xtheme… And you kindness when help needed… But i have a problem…
I thing this grid plugins are both which are comming with theme are not enough…
The things that i want to do is not hard…
I want grids like this…
if i chose masonnary i can put text but ist not justified…
if i chose grid, then i cant put text under it…
also i want to put icons on different category grids but i cant

I want something like this

But i dont want to switch x theme to that one… But if needed i will…

So is there a way to do grids like that.?
or are they using a plugin that you can tell me then i can buy olnly plugin not theme…

Thanks for reaching out.

May I know which grid plugin you are referring about masonry? With essential grid, you can choose Even layout instead of Masonry layout. The even layout should have equal sizes.

Then you can use its skin editor to create your own grid elements including text.

1-Icons on grids… showing category
2. Same sizes but some grids just picture some of them text + picture
3. I want to chose some grids bigger then others (like 2 columns etc)
Same as that…

So do you thing its possible with xtheme grid plugins… (i tried the grid and ess. grid) and i could not make it 1 week…

Hey @Devac,

The setup you need is possible with our bundled grid plugins except for the 2 column grid item design which will need custom CSS development. I see you’re using The Grid so I’ll point you out to the settings.

Your sample site uses a Justified Grid Type.

Some grid items in your sample uses a different skin so with that said, you will need to identify skins you will need to use or you need to create your own skin or modify an editable skin. To learn how to do that, please see https://theme-one.com/docs/the-grid/#skin_builder

Once you have your skins ready, you can select a skin for individual grid items by editing the post and selecting a skin in the Grid Settings.

Alternatively, you can Preview you grid if you’re in the Grid Editor.

Click the gear icon of the grid item you wish to use a different skin. You should get a popup with the same options in the screenshot above.

This is exacly what i did…

But if you will say thats a masonary skin yes, thats how i can put text under the picture, i dont want text in the picture frame but after it…

And also i really need to add icons by category…
But when i tried to put icon, that strange background block came, how can i remove that background also how can i add my own icons ?

Hi @Devac,

With your preferred setup, I’m afraid both Essential Grid and The grid is limited, the only thing good with the grid compared to the essential grid is justifiable grid items with uneven sizes. Regardless of the grid, it will display the same skin for each grid item, just different sizes of content.

I checked the grid from your site and I don’t see any block background, are you referring to the play icon? Because it appears to be automatic and inherits the cover image. Should it be hidden?

And the icons are only limited to what’s provided by the grid, I’m not saying it’s impossible but could be possible with custom development.

Well one by one i am solving the problems…
One more i had…
I chose masonary grid but if you look at my grid at homepage its not masonary…
Its like justified…
But masonary is selected…
is there naything that i can do?

Hello @Devac,

There is a JS error on the homepage which is why the masonry layout were affected. Please fix the VC grid images or remove it so that the masonry layout of the Grid plugin will work again.
