Grid not displaying excerpt of post built in cornerstone

i’m using “the grid” to display a series of posts but the excerpt doesn’t show up. These posts were built in cornerstone and it seems as though that is the reasons because I’ve never had problems getting the excerpt to appear before. Also just to try it I tested using “the essential grid” and it does display the excerpt on those posts.
