Grid in Pro Content Editor

The Grid in a section of my page displays all the post related to it. I does not display as a working Grid, but as a layout of all its posts. The Grid looks and works well on the site itself; it is only in the editor. This will become a bigger issue as more posts are created.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Could you please provide a screenshot of what this issue all about. Please also indicate where we can find this grid or maybe some steps on how we can replicate the issue in the site.

Best Regards.

Here is a screenshot of what can be captured full screen. There are more than thirty posts in total and only some could be captured. The Grid element shows all the posts at once in the editor. The grid is on the Home page.

Hi,

Try to set your grid layout to vertical instead of horizontal.

Kindly refer to the link below for more information.

Thanks

Hi Paul.

Nope that did not work. It made the page itself like the editor, showing all the posts at once. I have it switched back now and it looks normal on the page, but in the editor I have to scroll all the way down past 30 posts to get to the next section.

Hi,

Sorry I misunderstood.

You should use The Grid Element instead of the grid shortcode.

Though I am not sure why it is not available on your site.

Can you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

Well I deactivated all plugins except, The Grid, and the editing layout looks the same with all posts displayed. I figured this was a short cut way to determine if it was a third party issue. No need to reactivate plugins one by one. Also the Classic Grid Element does not show in the selection of Elements.

Hi @ggoudey,

I am not sure why the rendering of the posts are not the same like the front end in the editor. I suggest that you back up your website, and deactivate The Grid plugin. Then you will see the update message under the grid plugin. Update the gris to version 2.6.2.0 and activate the plugin again.

After that, please create a new grid and see if it fixes the issue.

Thank you.

Hello Christopher. Your solution worked. There is now a classic grid element. Although testing it in a new section it displays a notice " The Grid - Preview not available in Cornerstone" It displays the grid on the front end but nothing in the editor.

Hey There,

“The Grid - Preview not available in Cornerstone” is a known issue. Our developers is already working with the creators of the plugin to make sure that the grid preview in Cornerstone will be as smooth with out any conflicts. Once the’ve fixed this, it will be updated and will be rolled out in the next release update cycle.

Please bear with us.
