Googlebot Rendering of X Theme

Hello:
Recently my site has gone down in ranking and I have been checking Google Webmaster to see what the possible problem could be and I came across the Rendering of how Googlebot is seeing the site. I think it may be a problem. Can you explain why it is viewing my site this way? I thought the site was optimized for SEO. I will provide a private link with the info. Tks!

Hey @borinqen,

Yes, X is SEO optimized. The issue you’re facing is not related to the theme. It looks like Google Bot is blocked from reaching the resources of your site including images. That usually is due to your robots.txt rules. The theme does not play a part in it. You will need to consult with an SEO expert to take a look at your overall site setup and not only the theme.

Thanks.

Rather than calling an SEO expert (since I don’t know one) is there anything you can recommend that I can look at online to try and fix the issue?

You can try using an SEO plugin like Yoast SEO. For guidance, please see https://yoast.com/beginners-guide-yoast-seo/

Just note that we do not have support for third party plugins. For questions and issues, please contact the plugin’s support.

Thanks.

If you use the Fetch and Render tool and then click on the rendered version, it will list any of the page assets it was blocked from loading. What anomalies are you seeing in the rendered version? (Note that if the page is very long, the Render tool will stop creating the screenshot part way through the page. That’s not an issue with the actual website.)

Thanks for chiming in, Paul.

@borinqen, you might want to discuss further with Paul in the Peer to Peer forum.

Thanks.

Thank you Paul! I have used the Fetch and Render tool and I get this : https://www.screencast.com/t/iNv5mVv5RKC
However, I am not an expert and I am not sure how to fix these issues exactly. I appreciate all of your feedback!

Hey @borinqen,

You can reach out with @thompsonpaul in our Peer to Peer forum.

I will close this thread now as this is not a theme issue.

Thanks.
