Google Tags code issue

So, I started a ticket here a few days ago (11 days, so it is now closed) Adding Google Tag to functions.php

When I add the code, it ends up creating a display error on the site

How do I resolve this error

Thanks for reaching out.
It seems that you have added the PHP code into the custom JavaScript area. Either you add the *Google Tag Manager code into the Theme Options > JS without the script tag. You can add the code using any of the free plugins from the WordPress repository. Please find the article on how to add the code in header & footer and also the plugin that helps you.

If you still want to add the PHP code, please add that into your child theme’s functions.php file.
