Google Tag Manager errors

I installed Google Tag Manager today using Pro and a child theme. I added the snippets to the functions file and created the base.php file for the child theme for the body tag code snippet

The tags won’t fire no matter what fixes I try. Do I need to modify something for it to work with the latest update of Pro? I have ruled out a lot of issues. I now see that there is a CORS error related to the script as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Joe,

Do you have IP restrictions on your site? It is not loading here for me so I can’t check. Please try to disable it first while we are checking. Support are on different places so we can’t give you exact location. Different support can get it when you answer, so it is best to disable it for now.

About the issue, we need to check how you add it or if there is some conflict with other codes and plugin. It would be best if you can provide site URL, wordpress and FTP credentials inside a secure note.

Hi I do have IP restrictions. I will take them off temporarily.

Hello Joe,

I have checked your site and I can see that your have Google SiteKit. You haven’t set up the Google Tag Manager in SiteKit. Please set it up first and then test your GTag Manager again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Thanks for following up. I wiped out my code snippets and connected Google Tag Manager via Site Kit. Unfortunately, I have the same error.

Hello Joe,

Can you please post the error details in your next reply?

Thanks.

The script is being “BLOCKED BY CLIENT”

CORS Errors:

Hi Joe,

Thank you for sharing the error log. The error is not related to our theme. You can test that by changing teh theme to antoerh one and you will still get the same error.

I did a little bit of research and found out this link that might be of help:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/err_blocked_by_client/

Here is what suggested there:
Please check the list of browser extension: you should have an ad blocker extension active which also prevents Google Tag Manager and Google Anayltics to load.

Thank you.

Thanks. I had Ad Blocker disabled for the website but Ghostery was attempting to block ads as well. I paused it and now the Tag manager is error free. Thanks

Glad that you managed to fix the issue .
