Hi,
I have been using Google maps on my site for the last few years and suddenly it is now saying “For development purposes” on top of the image.
Not sure what has caused this to happen as it has been working perfectly for years.
Regards,
Mark

Hello Mark,
Thanks for asking.
I checked your website and can see Google Maps API warning: NoApiKeys error message in dev tools. You need to setup the API key as of late has changed its policy on accessing maps resources. Now you need to setup and use Google Maps API key in order to access maps resources. Please use following URl for more information and getting API key.

Thanks.
It now appears that Google wants you to add billing information for a new api, making use of the maps chargeable
Is there any alternatives that can be used with X/Cornerstone?
Hi There,
Yes, that seems to be the case but Google Maps provide free usage for Maps, Routes, and Places every month which seems to be enough for standard use.

The alternative is to use the Map element with Embed Code
How to get Embed Code from Google Map
Thanks,
Thanks for the info, I have used the new maps function and added embedded code and it appears to working again now.
Can you please tell how I can control the height of the section that I have the map in. As you will see on the link the map box now scales as the browser is changed, in the other Google Map I got to set a map height.
Please forget this as I have worked it out. All I needed to do was select the map and click Frame followed by fixed height.
Glad you’ve sorted it out
