Google Maps element not showing up

I have a problem with the Google Map element not showing up on the frontend. It is simply a white space where the map should be. Right-clicking on the white space, and inspecting it, the inspector shows the map element being there, but it’s not displayed.
In Cornerstone, when editing the page, it is very similar. Loading the page in cornerstone also shows only white space. However. as soon as I change any of the settings in the map element (e.g. (un-)checking any control, changing Zoom level, etcc), the map then shows up inside cornerstone.

The API Key is correct (changing it leads to an error message)

Any idea how to make the map show up?

Please make sure to insert the correct longitude and latitude that may be the same as the Marker’s coordinates.
