Google Maps async feature broke my [google_map] shortcode

Hello, I just updated a few of my sites to the newest version of Pro (6.5.4), and I noticed that my [google_map] shortcodes have stopped working (see screenshot).

I noticed in the changelog there was a tweak to the Google Maps integration that involved async.

And, for the record, I have to use the shortcode for my application, because I’m running it through a third party plugin (Events Made Easy, using templates to assemble). I also noticed that the Javascript Console says,

[Warning] Google Maps JavaScript API has been loaded directly without loading=async. This can result in suboptimal performance. For best-practice loading patterns please see https://goo.gle/js-api-loading (js, line 227)

Any idea why these maps will not appear? They work fine on all my sites that have not updated to the latest version of Pro.

I am getting this on one of my sites. It is at 6.5.5. In the screenshot below, there should be three maps in the blank area. Also shown is the console error message.
