Google fonts not loading in Revolution Slider backend

Hi there,

we use the WordPress version 5.3.2 and the X version 7.1.2. Unfortunately the Revolution Slider plugin (version 6.1.5) does not work in the backend while the Remove Google Fonts References plugin is activated. Therefore please have a look at the following task: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/font-family-in-revolution-slider-not-loading-on-mobile/65325/15?u=knowmates

Is there a solution available meanwhile?

Best regards

Hey @knowmates,

Regretfully, there’s none. You will need to deactivate Remove Google Fonts as suggested in the other thread.

Thanks.

Hello @christian_y,

too bad.

I just thought about using the LayerSlider as an alternative. Do you know about similar issues in that case?

Best regards

Hey @knowmates,

LayerSlider also uses Google Fonts in the backend so I believe the Remove Google Fonts plugin will also conflict. I’m not sure if there’s a plugin that doesn’t use Google Font. You might want to try posting in our Peer to Peer Forum to see if other users have experience in this.

Thanks.

Hello @christian_y,

I supposed that. Therefore I just posted in the Peer to Peer Forum. Thank you anyway!

Actually I can not imagine that I am the first with that problem. Probably that topic would be worth considering according to future developments.

Best regards

Hi @knowmates,

You’re welcome!
Revolution slider is yes, a supported plugin. Though we still don’t have control over its development. Then the issue is its conflict on another third party plugin which is really out of our control and support. Please also try to consult Remove Google Fonts References plugin developer for any possible adjustment on their side. Thank you for understanding.

Hello,

we just created a 1:1 copy of the live page to get an actual staging version (both on the same server).

In the new staging version the Revolution Slider backend works well. Do you have any assumptions what can cause that?

Best regards

Hey @knowmates,

Can you please provide us access to both your live site and the new staging site that the Revolution is working so that we can compare the settings and find out why it is working on the staging site? Please create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-get-support/288

Regards.

Hello @RueNel,

please have a look at the Secure Note.

Best regards

Hey @knowmates,

The only difference I see is your staging site is using PHP 7.1.3 and your live site is using 7.1.12. Try upgrading your live site to 7.1.3.

Please note that this is still a conflict with a third-party plugin although now there’s also a server configuration factor involved. If upgrading PHP doesn’t work, please report this to the Remove Google Fonts References plugin developer. We can’t investigate this issue deeper as this is outside the scope of theme support.

Thank you for understanding.

Hey @christian_y,

now we use the PHP version 7.1.3 on the live site but the Revolution Slider backend still does not work. Afterwards I also cleared the cache via WP-FFPC plugin.

Do you have any other ideas?

Best regards

Hello @knowmates,

We can no longer access your live site with the given credentials.
Can you please deactivate all your optimization plugins? It seems PageSpeed is generating a JS error on the live page.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hello @RueNel,

we just created new support access data. Please have a look at the Secure Note, especially at the mentioned ‘optimization plugins’.

A JS error on the live page sounds new to me.

Best regards

Hi @knowmates,

The only difference I found is InfiniteWP - Client is updated on Live. Though unlikely, can you also try to update it on staging. See if it will show the same error? If nothing happens, at this point as stated, it would be better to consult Remove Google Fonts plugin developer about the conflict. Thank you for understanding.

Hello @Lely,

I just updated InfiniteWP on the staging page but the Revolution Slider backend still works as it should.
Thanks for the help anyways!

I will try to contact the third party plugin developer.

Best regards

You’re always welcome @knowmates!

Cheers.
