Hey we have a lot of trouble in europe. it is not longer allowed to use google fonts directly from the google servers.

I have used your awesome fontmanger. now all my fonts are set right for design. now i want to connect the google fonts i want to my server.
1. How is it possible to deactivate google fonts in the pro theme so that the google javascripts and so on do not longer be active and appear in the sourcecode?
2. How can i link a font witch is stored an my server into the fontmanager?
3. and how do i link them to my actuall template so i dont have to redo everything in footer header and all this other place i connected the fonttemplates

HERE IS A STATEMENT FOR INFO TO THE PROBLEM WITH GOOGLE FONTS:
With the Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), which now comes into force, there are always peculiarities which you, as the website operator and blogger, have to pay attention to. I’ve just learned that using Google fonts directly from the Google server can also be a problem if you take privacy seriously.

The reason is quite simple: if you access a Google font directly from the Google server in the US, your IP address will be sent to this server. Privacy advocates now have concerns that Google may store this data internally and use it to track visitors.

So if you want to play it safe, you should put the Google fonts directly on your own webspace, so your visitors do not have to contact the Google server.

Hi there,

Please consider that there is no evidence that the Google Font is illegal checking the law in question. There are few alerts at the moment but we do not have any official statement regarding this and make sure if needed Google will handle the case as they will never lose that many of customers in Europe.

Having said that you need to choose only the system fonts and not the google fonts in the Font Manager. You can tell the difference in the listing of the fonts, the system fonts are at the top of the list:

Unfortunately, you can not add self-hosted custom fonts in our theme and you will not have the font listed in different parts of the Theme Options or the Elements. You will need to do it all manually and using the custom CSS code to assign the font to the necessary places on your website.

I did a Google Search which can help you learn how to add a custom font to your WordPress website.

As the answer to your 3rd question, you will need to add a custom CSS code for the font family you want to use and then assign the class you used in the custom code to the different parts of the website, and in some cases you might need to do it manually and go over each and every section unfortunately.

@font-face rules (http://www.font-face.com/) are how you add your own custom fonts via CSS. Google Fonts handles the generation of those rules just by linking a stylesheet reference to their servers. It takes a bit more work to set it up manually for custom fonts, At the moment we don’t have a way to support custom uploaded fonts so you would need to use custom CSS to achieve this.

ok but maybe i can modifi a php file from pro theme or an databaseentry?

i understand this point.

but if you look exactly to the restrictions from this law. it is cleared that the ip transportation from the user to the google servers is in EU now personal data. The IP is personal data. Without agreement from the user it is not allowed to use google fonts. but this is not practicable. I know it sounds crasy. i am also very unhappy with this situation.

In case of google analytics there is a way to make it leagal by using “anonymus ip” in google analytics.
but this function is not provided in googlefonts.

I think the problem with facebooklikebutton or likebox integration is a huger problem. but technically is this the same problem.

The Google Font and social share buttons are a service that we provide and you can simply avoid using those services if you feel it might be problematic in your country.

You will need to use the Font Manager and choose from system fonts only to avoid using the Google Fonts.

For the social information, you will need to go to the Theme Options social section and make all the social links blank.
