Google Analytics Conflict

Hello,

Today, I went to work on my site at www.compassglcc.com. When I updated the theme to the new 4.3.3 version, the entire site went down. The “pro” theme automatically went to the twenty twenty one theme that comes with wordpress.

I had to restore to the previous version. I use godaddy, and their hosting support told me that it was because there was a conflict with the google analytics plugin . . .but that comes with Pro! I’ve looked on the forum and have not seen anything similar to what I’m experiencing.

Do you know what is causing this? I’m not updating to the new version until I figure this out!

Here is a pic of the error message:

Hello @Compassglcc,

Thanks for writing to us.

I checked the plugin on my local test site it seems that it is working fine. It might be the issue of version compatibility issue. I would suggest you please make your theme, plugin, WordPress, and PHP version are updated as per our version compatibility page.

My local development server configuration

  • WordPress 5.7.1
  • Pro theme 4.3.3
  • PHP 7.4.19

I would suggest you, it would be best if you could copying your live website to your staging area. then update your theme and plugin then check it again.

I would suggest you contact your hosting provider in case if your PHP version is not updated as per our version compatibility page. It is also recommended by the WordPress as well please have a look at this article

In case if you have not seen our doc regarding the theme update please have a look at it.

Hope it helps
Thanks
