Google analytics code is not displaying correctly

I installed the x-theme extensión to add the Google analytics tracking code and the code i enter is not the code that gets saved, the extension is removing one part and my code is not registering any visitors.

The following part gets removed from the first script tag:
async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-xxxxxxx-xx"

Any ideas, how can i fix it?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! There is a known issue with the plugin and it removed the script tags when you insert the tag manager code. We do not have a fix yet.

I would recommend that you use alternative Google Analytics plugin like (https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/4) for the moment.
