GoDaddy Migration Fail

Has anyone else had this problem with Godaddy, with their One-Click Migration Tool.
Must use at least WordPress 3.0 is what the error was saying.

Support said to disable Plugins (like always) - didn’t work.
So I disabled the theme and now it works.

Any ideas or solutions for future migrations?

Mike

GoDaddy is famous for issues, but if it works with the theme disabled, I would say just do that. Disable theme, migrate site, re-enable theme.

Thanks, Michael for responding.
Your right, that’s want I’ll do from now on.
I thought there might be an easy fix to the theme that may be causing this kind of problem.

I recently migrated two sites from the GoDaddy shared hosting to their managed wp hosting. In both cases, I had to disable all plugins and the theme (X for one and Pro for the other).

Before disabling the theme(s), I attempted both migrations with their “one click migration” tool several times. I’m not sure there’s a way around this.

Also, If you call and their support tells you that they don’t help with migrations, call back and try to get someone else. I found that it’s about a 50/50 split on who will help.
