Global Header #2

A few month ago i had a question about the global header in pro theme, and it was already answered as you can see in the linked post:

Global _header.php

My problem is that i tried your suggestion to put my code in both of the .php headers. (nothing special, just the favicon)
If i have both uploaded, the _header.php and the base.php, and activated a custom header, everything works fine. But if i deactivate the custom header to use the original wordpress header, no header appears at all. If i delete the base.php the wordpress header comes back.

Any suggestion why the base.php interferes with the normal wordpress header even if its not activated?

The reason why i need both is, that i only want to use a custom header on specific sites!

Thanks for writing in.

What code did you add? How about just adding it through wp_head hook instead of editing the code directly? It’s a favicon and utilizing wp_head hook is enough.

Ok it works and you’re right, this is the better solution for the favicons, thank you.
