I have a row with two columns where I have turned the global container off so I can place an image to the left edge of the screen. I want text to the right, but respecting the global container (so text does not hit the edge).
Is this possible at all?

Please be advised that once you turn OFF the global container, the column width will be up to the very end of the browser width. This is why your text hit the edge of the browser window. Instead of using and image element, you can insert your image as a background image for the section instead. Perhaps this video tutorials may help you:
