Global blocks WPML translation (Feature request)

Hi guys,

I would like to request to have the same translation layout on the global blocks, as the theme does with pages and posts, right now. im talking about this: http://prntscr.com/jul543

in the meantime do you have a workaround that doesn’t involves creating a NEW translated global block and manually add it on each page (As needed)?

EDIT 1: Nevermind guys, my bad, global blocks CAN be translated as you can do it with pages and posts, you just have to enable them on WPML’s Settings

EDIT 2: the only thing is that global blocks do not copy the rows/columns/etc when translated, even if i select said option.

You should create separate Global Block for each language, we have currently an issue opened in our issues tracker regarding the following issue:

• If you created a Global Block and translated it using the flag icons.
• Then you added the Global Block in a page using Content Builder in the default language.
• Then translated the content using the flag icons.
• The Global Block will not switch to the translated version.

I’m not sure if this is the same issue you are having or not, could you please elaborate?

i wasn’t an issue when i first opened this thread. i had disabled the ability to translate the global block and didn’t see the flag as with the pages, but i’m sad to confirm that the compatibility with global blocks in WPML is still a bit non-existent.

Also, i noticed that when you choose to clone the existing page to another language, it erases everything (this happens only with global blocks).

well, i hope you fix that as soon as you can, but i’ll create another global block in the meantime.

I have also reported the new issue that you have mentioned, to our issue tracker. We cannot provide any ETA, but rest assured that our developers will look into it.
