Global Blocks not working after updating to Cornerstone 5.0.6

Global Blocks not working after updating to Cornerstone 5.0.6. I am facing this issue on multiple installations.

Hi @malavkarkar,

It might be due to the version conflict between the X theme and the Cornerstone, it has been found that in your site X theme is updated to the latest version whereas the Cornerstone is still behind the latest one. I would suggest you follow the below steps to troubleshoot.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. After deletion please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

If that does not resolve the issue, I would suggest you troubleshot a few common issues on this.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps and you are still getting the issue, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL

Hi!

I’m having this same issue on multiple installations. I just created a fresh WordPress installations, and the same issue appears on latest version of X and Cornerstone. It works just fine if I downgrade Cornerstone. Including log in details in secure note.

Hi Malav,

I just check your Global blocks and I can confirm that the issue exists while using the Classic Raw Content element in your Global Blocks. I already submitted a ticket regarding this issue and for the meantime use the V2 Raw Content and it will fix your issue.

On your homepage, the content is now visible using the V2 Raw Content.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi!

Thank you! There’s a new Cornerstone update as I can see. I’ve updated to Cornerstone 5.0.7 and the issue still isn’t resolved.

Hello @malavkarkar

We have already added this issue to our issue tracker, our development team will fix the issue ASAP. Please stay tuned for the fixed release.

Please bear with us.
Thanks

Global Blocks not working after updating to Cornerstone 5.0.7

I’m having a similar issue where Global Blocks are now not displaying???

“This Global Block does not have any content.”

I have not used Classic Raw Content

HELP PLEASE

Hello @JayRozanski,

Our developers are already looking into this issue. A patch release update will be available soon.

Thank you for your understanding.

Awesome, thanks!

You’re welcome!

Hi @malavkarkar,

I’ve looked into this issue and I’m not able to reproduce it. I’ve also checked your install, but there are no Global Blocks like you’ve mentioned.

@JayRozanski, Sorry to hear you’ve having the same issue. If you wouldn’t mind opening a separate thread and sharing login credentials it would help us investigate this more expediently. Thanks!

Hi @alexander

You can check this issue live on home page of https://mythica.in. In the footer, right above the map, you will see text “This Global Block does not have any content.” that’s supposed to be a global block.

Thanks @malavkarkar,

I meant there are no Global Blocks in the site you provided login details for, nor can I see the problem there. Can you provide login access to the live site? This would help us see the problem. Thanks!

@alexander

This is the link - https://mythica.in

Here is a screenshot of what I’m seeing in the footer - https://ibb.co/XYD5rbb

@alexander Sorry for the confusion! If you’re referring to the URL https://malavkarkar.com/demo, it was for testing purpose and I’ve taken down that installation.

Although, I’m facing this same issue on many websites. I’ve included log in details of one of these websites Mythica above. I’m using a Global Block element in footer; but instead of displaying content from the Global Block, it says “This Global Block does not have any content.”

This has been happening since I updated to Cornerstone 5.0.6.

Thank you! I was able to export a template from your site which helped isolate the issue. I’ve installed a development build of X and Cornerstone on your site so it is working correctly now. The fix will be included in the next official release as well, so you can safely update next time you see an automatic update notice.

Great, thank you so much!

Am I fine to move this development build of X and Cornerstone on the other sites that are having the same issue?

You are most welcome @malavkarkar, let me know your feedback if you faced any issue further.

I also encountered this problem on cagpoly.com/about after updating to Cornerstone 5.0.7 and X 8.0.7 Since I use Global Blocks on several other sites, I am waiting until this problem is fixed before installing the X and Cornerstone updates on them.

Hi @darlene_cain,

This issue was already been reported to our issue tracker for fix by my colleague a few days back for version 8.0.7. We have already released the X theme version 8.0.10 with some fixes, I would recommend you to update your theme to the latest one. I would also suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

Hope it helps.
Thanks
