Global Block with Navigation Inline doesn't show menu selected in archive page

Hi,

I want to show a Global Block in a woocommerce product category. This Global Block has a menu inside with a Navigation Inline.

When I create a test page with only the shortcode to show this Global Block it works perfect.

When I create a product category with only the shortcode to show this Global Block it shows almost perfect, cause the menu showed is not the one I’ve selected. It shows always the main menu.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi @controlbyte,

Thanks for reaching out.

Would you mind providing your site’s URL and admin login credentials in a secure note? I like to know what’s happening in your setup, and please let us know which category page and shortcode are being added.

Are you adding it in category description?

Thanks!

Hi again,

Secure not provided.

The Global Block I want to show is called ‘Menu’

Product Category where I want to show the Global Block: ‘nueva’. I’ve used the shortcode [cs_gb id=25460] in category description. It shows the wrong menu. I’ve also tried to show the Global Block with php in functions.php, the same result. I’ve managed to show a big Global Block ([cs_gb id=25458]) and it works ok, it seems only a problem with the navigation element.

Test page with the same shortcode: ‘menutest’. It shows the correct menu. It appears to behave differently according to if it’s in a page or it is in an archive category. Selecting a sample menu in the navigation element works ok in both archive category and page.

Thanks

Hi @controlbyte,

I can’t get into the admin, the error says “too many redirect”, maybe there is a special URL that we need to access first?

Thanks!

Sorry, my host provider has some security that prevents login from outside countries. I’ll need to know from which country you’ll log in to try to open access.

Thanks

Hello @ControlByte,

Our staff resides in UK, US, Philippines, Thailand and several Asian countries. I would say that if it’s possible, please unlock it so that any of our staff on duty can check it.

Hope this make sense.

Hi,

I’ve granted access from Philippines and Thailand. UK & US were already allowed. I can only add four countries per day, so please try again when you can and if it you can’t login in, give me the country you are trying to log in from.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks.

Hi @controlbyte,

It’s a bit weird, I’m able to reproduce this issue on my installation but just once. What I did is I created another menu and use it in the global block, then added the shortcode to the category description and it suddenly works.

But the same process doesn’t work in your site, perhaps it’s due to cache or 3rd party codes that overrides the menu? Like a menu logic customization.

I can’t do further troubleshooting from your site since it’s live site, I can’t disable some features. You could try testing for a plugin or custom code conflict . You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins and codes, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin or code caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks, I’ll make some tests as soon as I can.

Thanks for testing.
