I’m on X theme and if I try to translate a global block clicking on the flag, than on Start Blank … I get the error “Uh oh! Failed to create global block.”
I already read other posts and also tried deleting cornerstone, but if I click on the notice to make it install it gaves this error: Unable to install Cornerstone. Il download non è andato a buon fine. Non è stato fornito un URL valido.
(I’m working on the staging site - that is also indicated on the account and license of X)
Hi Massimo,
Thanks for reaching out.
It will be very difficult to recognize the reason behind it without investigating it through the Admin Dashboard. I would suggest you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
Thanks
I’ve added the note to the previous reply. Let me know. thanks
Hello Massimo,
The given credentials seems incorrect. Please double check so we can log in and investigate.
See the secure note below.
Best Regards.

Hello Massimo,
I am another staff I went ahead and edited the Host file and inserted the given IP but the site is not working please disable the IP restrictions so that we can check it at our end.
Thanks
there are no ip restrictions:
please check if is correctly set up the host.
Here I share in the note also the ftp credentials.
Hey Massimo,
I have replicated the issue in my test site so there is no need for log in credentials. That happens because Global Blocks or technically cs_global_block
is not set as translatable in WPML > Settings.
But, Global Blocks aren’t really currently translatable even if the translation flags are present so there is no need to use the translation flags. You currently need to create separate Global Block for each language.
We are very sorry for all the back and forth.
Hello christian,
I’ve changed the wpml settings and the block are translatable on the backend but in frontend it replace the global block with another global block (where there’s the code echo do_shortcode(’[cs_gb name=“newsletter-prefooter”]’) in the php template it loads another template - same for every global block translated that is in the page -> it loads another id as I can see inspecting the css class)
I know building two blocks and using conditional statement is a workaround but…
So will it be solved? Can I make fixes on the theme/plugin?
Hey Massimo,
Sorry if you might have understood my statement:
What I mean by that is the translated Global Blocks will not show up in the front-end.
Regretfully, there is no fix, so you need to manually create a Global Block per language.
Thanks.
Got it.
Do you plan to implement this missing feature?
Hi Massimo,
We have already reported that issue and our development team is aware of this issue they are still investigating this, but unfortunately, there is no news on this till now.
Thanks
Just to let you know (maybe will help you release a fix) if you create the translation block than disable the wpml translation option for the cs_global_block
you’ll be able to edit and save the translation that appear correctly on the languages pages.
Hello Massimo,
Thanks for sharing the information. We would check it and debug it properly at our end.
Thanks
