Ghost embedded video

I noticed I’ve got a ghost embedded video spot on my site. Anyone know the reason?

The extra spot doesn’t show up when I open Cornerstone but only shows up on the visitor’s end on of my site.

My site is www.vividtreks.com

I tried clearing Cache but it still doesn’t work.

I also thought it was the element I was using but it doesn’t appear to be. I tried using both classic embedded vid and regular video element but the phantom spot still appears.

Also deactivated all plugins except Cornerstone and it’s still doing the same thing.

Hi @vividtreks,

Thanks for writing in.

I have checked your front page and I could not see any problem. Would you mind sharing us your admin credentials so we could I could check your further.

Don’t forget to set it in a secure note.

Thanks.

Hi @nico

Thanks for the quick response.

I’ve added the secure note.

While you’re checking the theme, could you also check the posts page. When I open it up with cornerstone, it shows a whole bunch of elements that don’t show on the “live” site. I think they may be from the Extended theme when I downloaded.

I tried removing the elements but they keep on re appearing no matter how many times I delete them.

Hi @vividtreks,

Would you mind sharing us screenshots of what you mean elements that showing but not on live.

In regards to the ghost container, I have remove it already using skeleton mode so that I could see the unused container.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Thanks for fixing that @nico

Here’s what I mean about the elements. Normally, this is how my posts page looks on the live version:

But, when I turn on the discussions toggle in my wordpress dashboard:

I get this showing up and all the posts have disappeared from my posts page: https://photos.app.goo.gl/yIYvkjAmRz0WAP222 the link is the top half of the page, this photo below is the bottom portion. ( The page says HOME but it’s not my home page, it’s still the posts page. This is still all in the posts page)

If I turn the discussions toggle off again from my dashboard then I open cornerstone on my posts page, it shows me a whole bunch of elements that don’t even show on the live page.

Hello @vividtreks,

Thanks for updating the thread.

Before proceeding with the testing I cleared WP Fastest cache. After that I opened the blog page and then turned on the discussions. I previewed the blog page and don’t see any issues with the layout. I also inspected few posts in dev tools and can see that you are not using Cornerstone to design the layout of posts.

I suggest you to please clear cache and see how it goes. As on my end I am unable to replicate the issue you are mentioning and after following the steps you mentioned I don’t see any changes in the layout.

Thanks.

Hmm that’s odd. Well, it doesn’t really cause much of an issue unless I turn the discussions on so it isn’t much of an issue. Thanks for looking into it though. @Prasant

You are most welcome.

Hi @Prasant, I’ve made an update in regards to another (similar) issue as to the ones I was having previously.

I added a classisc about author element onto my home page and now the formatting for the page has gone completely wonky on the live page. I’ve tried purging the site and all my cache but it appears to still be occurring.

When I look at the site in cornerstone, everything shows properly:

But, when I visit the live version of my home page, I’m seeing this:

I’ve deleted the element that was causing the issue since it just wasn’t serving the purpose.

Glad you’ve sorted it out.

Cheers!
