Getting "snippet" from post to show up on a page

Ever since I did the most recent upgrade of X theme, I’m running into issues with things that have always worked being, all of a sudden, very different and not working the same.

The latest is, I have a page which links to all of the posts I’ve made on my site, and for each post, I manually type in a description in the “Snippet” field so that it will display next to the link to the post on the site. My latest post that I made after the X theme update has something typed in the “snippet” field, but no description is displaying on the page next to the link to the post.

Hey @kik4adog,

We’d like to know a few more details first to clarify the issue. Please answer these questions.

1. Looks like you’re using a third party plugin to display your posts?
2. Are you using ACF Pro for the Snippet field?

Please also give us WP admin access in a Secure Note so we could see your setup and so we could try to replicate it on our end.

Thank you for your help. I actually figured it out. I guess, for some reason, before all I had to so was type what I wanted to appear for the excerpt in the “snippet” field for my SEO Yoast plugin and that doubled as my search engine display excerpt and the excerpt that would show up on my site. But after the update, I guess that doesn’t work for the site any more. I’m not sure why, but I found another field on my post edit page titled “Excerpt” that I can type in my description and it is working now.

Glad you have sorted it out. It must have been a conflict with those third party plugins namely Display Posts and Yoast SEO.
