I asked for help on this forum for a fault that occurred after the latest Cornerstone update
The technical support people swiftly and courteously responded asking me to set up a staging server
I did
I had put the name of the site in plaintext in one of my posts
My stupidity was to call the staging site staging.(Nameofsite).com
I have been swamped by over 4000 attacks to the staging server over the last 24 hours.
Luckily, my firewall stops anything nasty happening
Moral - don’t call your staging server anything obvious , it’s an easy target because there is an assumption that there is a problem that might equal a vulnerability and is therefore an easy target worth exploiting
