Hello Themeco. Are you based outside Europe? If so do you comply with European GDRP legislation?

Hi Ronald,

We are a US company with staff and contractors in a number of non EEA countries. We are updating our privacy policy and terms of use in line with our own high standards of privacy protection, as well as applicable laws including GDPR.

However, we do not process personal data as defined under GDPR from your use of our themes. We will be releasing an update imminently which shall allow you to disable the use of Google Fonts within the theme, since users have addressed concerns that use of Google Fonts may affect your compliance under GDPR.

Thank you. I am sorry i do not agree. Often X theme aks for a log-in during support. In hat send this is 100% GDRP sensitive because at that point you have acces to all the website data…
The google font’s option stick me a bit, but i understand

Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough in my response before. When I said that we are updating our terms of use above, it is in part to address the issue that you mention. I’m aware of our obligations under GDPR as a processor in respect of how we handle support and the revised terms of service shall outline various points in line with all our data protection obligations, including GDPR.

When is the update coming for the google font substituted? I talked to my customers and we have some fears to continue with google fonts

Hi Ronald,

When the new terms are in place, you’ll be required to accept them the next time you log into your account. Regarding the update, we are in the final stages of testing and will release this as soon as possible. I cannot give you a specific time as testing is always fluid, but it may be as early as today or tomorrow.
