FV Player shortcode

I am using X theme version 7 Ethos stack. I have installed FV Player for some additional features not available with x theme player. However when I create a post using the video page attribute and insert the FL player shortcode in the video embed section, the will not appear only the short code. However if I create and edit using Cornerstone I am able to enter the FV Player Shortcode and the video will appear and play but it changes the page layout and adds the featured image at the top of the page which I don’t want.

My question: How can I make the FV Player the default video payer so that I can just enter the FV Player shortcode in the video embed section when creating a post with video page attributes. I know I can enter the FV Player short code in the content area but it changes the page layout which I don’t want. I want to use the video post page layout with the FV Player.

It sounds like the issue is specific to the FV Player plugin you are using. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

The player functions fine the problem is I can’t embed the player and maintain the “video” post page layout. If I create/edit a new “standard” post and embed the video player shortcode everything works fine but the page layout now has the large featured image at the top of the page above the player unlike the “video” post page layout that simply puts the video on top with the title and post text below which is what I would like. Perhaps you can tell me how to setup a full page post, with video player on top (w/o featured image on top) and the post title and content below the player. Basically i just want to used the video post page layout using a different video player.

Glad that you have found a workaround, JP. Just remember that if a plugin offers their own shortcode, it must only be added in elements with an HTML/Rich Text editor. The Video elements doesn’t have that so it’s not a suitable element to paste your FV Player shortcode.
