Future of "The Grid" Extension

A follow-up to this thread: Can't find 'the Grid' plugin re: The Grid.

Will sites that already have it installed still have access to the plugin and, if so, for how long? I have several years worth of image posts that will have to be updated, along with our archive and search result pages. Just wondering how much time I have to transition this content.

Hi @karlklockars,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can still access “The Grid” on your website, but we are no longer distributing it to the new customer, updating and providing support on the said plugin after September 30th.

You can check the full details here:

Hope that helps.

Good to know. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi @karlklockars,

You’re welcome! If you have any other concerns or clarifications regarding our theme features, feel free to open up a new thread.

Thank you.

Hey @marc_a, what’s the reason for removing The Grid plugin? Is it because you now have a native solution in place? Just curious.

Hi @JvP,

Yes, you are right! The Grid plugin has been removed from our bundled plugins. We recommend all Themeco customers switch to the native Posts Elements available in all Cornerstone builders. More advanced layouts can be achieved using the Grid Element available in Pro.

Hope that helps.

Does the Posts Elements support a Filter in the way that the The Grid does? In one of my grids, there’s a dropdown above it to filter the results in the grid and I can’t see an equivalent in the Posts Element?

Hello @devilman,

Regretfully there is no option of filter in the Post element like the “The Grid” plugin. It would require custom development. I would suggest you contact a developer who can assist you with your concern or you can avail of our services called One where customization questions are answered. Please note that we don’t provide custom development support. It is out of the support scope.

Thanks for understanding.

Ok. It’s a shame that a new version of a template ends up with reduced functionality though.

Hi @devilman,

You could try Essential Grid which is also included as an extension.
