Full screen video background - Vimeo Plus

Hi,

Reposting this as a new request. I thought it was the same question as another thread, but if you would prefer it as a separate question here it is:

Is there a way to use a video on Vimeo Plus for a background? I don’t want to upgrade to paying £20 a month to Vimeo for Pro, just so I can get a video background via direct link! Other themes seem to allow this function from Vimeo plus or youtube, could you explain why it doesn’t work here?

I don’t want to self host either - it’s too unreliable with the quality of playback.

Hi Georgie,

Thanks for writing in! To set a background video, you need the direct URL to the video. With regard to Vimeo, you need to have a Vimeo Pro account to get the direct URLs of the videos. This seems to be worked earlier with Vimeo plus, however after WordPress 4.9 update, it doesn’t work anymore. You can see more information from here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/support-for-an-issue-with-background-video/24668/13?u=mldarshana).
