Front End Unstyled - Non of the Fixes Are Working

I updated Wordpress and Pro yesterday and continued building my site. Everything looks good in the backend. But when I view on frontend it is completely different. It’s a mess- no styling.

I’ve done the following as suggested by docs and forum replies to similar problems, but no success:

-Checked Plugins
-Made sure all plugins were up to date and ones deactivated were deleted
-Cleared style cache and browser cache
-Had GoDaddy support purge cache on their end
-Saved permalinks to post
-checked css and js (removed a small bit of css I had added before my updates, but it made no difference)
-checked if it was a theme issue

I also updated php and added zip extension as I was getting a warning from site health that it was missing.

Another issue I started experiencing after updating was that the site lags. Whether updating or navigating in the backend or previewing- it takes so long to make the simplest move.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey Beth,

Thank you for performing some troubleshooting steps. That helps narrow the issue down.

The cause of that could be broken HTML within your content. Let’s first solve this before going to other issues to avoid confusion.

Please give us the following information in a Secure Note and we’ll check your page’s structure.

  • URL of the page in question
  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Hi Beth,

I have checked your site and found that the Element CSS at your Header > Bar 1 does not close the parenthesis. I went ahead and closed it and now the styles are coming properly in your Home Page.

Thanks

Thank you so much! Really appreciate this. :+1:

Glad that we could be of help.

Cheers!
