Front end link preview iFrame

I have a CPT like this, in which there is a URL field (first of the three shown)

If I leave those fields blank, the front end render makes sense and looks like this:

If I insert a URL into the “Group URL” field, the front end renders a preview iFrame of the target site like this:

This also happens if I insert the URL into the body of the post, or in the CPT field “Group URL 2” which is type ‘text’.

Why is the front end retrieving and rendering this preview?

Thanks, Bill.

Hey Bill. This is the WordPress oembed default behavior, If you insert a full URL it’ll attempt to do a preview. I’ll add a theme option to disable this default behavior as it’s a little confusing and seems like a legacy feature. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I found the disable embed plugin, and will experiment tomorrow. Preventing this for URLs in Pro elements seems pretty necessary. Thanks for the clue. Bill.
