Formatting issue following domain transfer

Hi there,

I’ve just recently migrated my website to a new host, and am now having a mysterious formatting issue occur on my homepage. The website is italkstudios.com.au

Here’s how the formatting looks in Pro, as it has been designed and how it appeared publicly up until yesterday:

And here is how it is appearing publicly, on all browsers I have checked so far:

I haven’t made any changes to the page, Pro is up to date and all plugins are up to date.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hey @TreatLightly,

I currently see the area you showed in your screenshot as part of Slider Revolution. If that is not the case, it is most likely that you inserted or coded HTML that is incomplete. I checked your site on https://validator.w3.org/ and there are HTML errors. The common areas where custom HTML is usually inserted are the text areas so inspect each of the elements in your site where text is added.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the reply! I’ve had a look at the HTML inspector and while there appears to be a few things astray, I think the problems I’m having are much deeper. Currently I cannot make any changes to my homepage below a certain section - I can’t add, edit or modify anything.

Help!

Hello @TreatLightly,

Thanks for updating in! I have inspected your homepage and in the editor you have 8 sections. When viewing the homepage live, the page only have 6 sections. Can you please deactivate SlidersPack - All In One Image/Post Slider plugin and test the homepage again?

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Aha! That was it - the rest of the page is functioning as normal now.

Do you have any idea why this plugin would cause such an issue? It was working fine for several months previously…

Hi @TreatLightly,

Do you have custom html inside the slider? Html syntax error might be the cause. If none you might want to check in with the plugin developer because it is third party plugin and it is outside the scope of our support. Thank you for understanding.

Hi Lely,

Thanks for the clues - I didn’t have the slider doing anything aside from fetching posts, so it must have just been a casual old plugin conflict. I replaced it with another, and all is well.

Thanks as always!

Glad to hear it’s sorted, @TreatLightly.
