Hi Please would it be possible to have a look at one of my sites, as the footer is missing only the page marked as the home
I think you missed the template part on that home page.
I have been using this theme for only a day but I think I can help with that
FIX
1.Edit page
2. select template at the side of the editor
3. from dropdown select which template you want. they are fully explained.
— -some have no footer, some no header, some have both, some have none.
4.Save - that should fix the problem depending on what you select on point 3
---- Just make sure the theme is up to date too
Kind Regards
I really appreciate your suggestion, but I have already tried this, with no joy. I have also tried changing themes from pro to x with no joy, that’s what lead me to contact pro support. Thanks
Hi there,
I checked and it uses a template with footer. But I can’t check your footer builder. Would you mind providing the correct login URL too? The wp-admin and wp-login doesn’t work.
Thanks!
Updated login details, thanks
Hey There,
The login details is not working. Please double check it.
Thank you.
Details Updated. Thanks. The footer is not a pro footer, its a standard Footer. Thanks
Hi there,
Upon checking, the footer wrapper is there but the content is blank. And even if the content display it blank, it should at least display widgets (I activated theme during the test). This something related to templates. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well?
Thanks!
FTP Details Updated thanks.
There is text in the footer, check any other page, it’s just not appearing in a page marked ‘Home’
Thanks
Hi there,
There is no error being logged, but it’s weird because regardless of page and if you assign it as home page, the footer will be gone. I also disable everything and still the same, but one thing is, if I enable X theme instead of Pro, the footer is there. Would you mind re-installing Pro theme? Or please clone your site into staging and I’ll test it there.
Thanks!
I reinstalled Pro - this made no difference.
I have cloned the site and setup a Test Area for you
See Previous ‘Secure Note’ for all details. Thanks
Hi there,
I am out of options here. I checked the test site:
- Changed the homepage to another page and the footer is not showing
- The Pro built footer is not showing either
- I created 2 Pro footers and they work ok on all pages except the homepage
- I changed the Permalinks settings to test with no result
- Changed the theme from Child Theme to the Main Theme.
- In some cases, a wrong header HTML custom code might cause problems in the footer, but not this time I tested that by changing the header to default mode and not Pro header with no effect.
One point that found:
I installed the Transient cleaner plugin to clear the database transients to make sure there is no problem there, but I get this error:
So despite the fact that I already disabled the plugins, there is some sort of caching going on which you need to contact your hosting service provider to double check and it might be also something related to the database. So use database repair tools to see if it can help.
Please consider that this is not happening for us in other installations and I personally checked the case in 3 other installations. This must be something related to a broken database.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for your feedback, but i will point out the previous comments from Rad “Staff”
So yes i will run a Database repair on the site, but the error is clearly with Pro
Hey @neilr2096,
Yes, the footer wrapper or container is there but it is empty. That means what you’ve built in the Footer Builder is not there. There is something in your system causing that. The story is different when you’re using X. The footer is outputted by a template file in that case while in Pro, it is from the database because it is a custom post type. This issue is indeed weird and it is my first time seeing this. I’ve logged in using the FTP credential you’ve provided previously but while I was working, it won’t allow me to access folder anymore (see Secure Note).
Thanks.
FTP Credentials Provided are the ‘master credentials’ and are working fine
Hey @neilr2096,
I checked your wp-config.php and your memory limit was set to 128M. I increased it but the issue persists (see Secure Note). I also saw that you’ve disabled WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE. I checked your error log and found this error. That error is usually caused by incomplete WordPress update. I tried reinstalling WordPress but the issue still persisted though.
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function apply_filters() in /home/anrdesig/public_html/testarea/wp-includes/load.php on line 316
Would you mind setting up a fresh WordPress install and then only install Pro? We just want to ensure that no left over configurations and files from other plugins could cause the issue like what I see in your wp-content folder (see Secure Note)
Thanks.
New site created - cleaninstall.anr.design
Use all the same details as before
Many thanks
Hey @neilr2096,
I could not login using the same WP admin credentials as your testarea site but, as you can see, your new site displays the footer while your testarea site won’t display even switching to Classic Footer.
This tells us there is something in your WordPress installation causing the issue in https://testarea.anr.design
Please try assigning a footer built with the Footer Builder in your new test site.
Thanks.
