Footer is broken and is stacking beside the main content

I have but it was always self-inflicted. I had an open HTML tag (missing the closing >) that was messing up my layouts.

Gregg is right! This usually happens if you inserted broken HTML code. I suggest that you delete the section on that page or in the footer area one by one to find the culprit.
