I’m not sure what would cause that but if you can provide a URL to that page we can take a closer look. It’s most likely a conflict with some custom CSS somewhere but we should be able to find it. I’ve taken a look at the site registered in your account and it looks like you might have gone a different direction since the colors are different there now.
the site i’m working on, will replace an existing one
the url is : article7eed.eu but that is the old site to be replaced
you’ll have to modify your hosts file to make this url look at my server where the new site (with the x-theme) is being developed…

either way can’t i add a custom ccs code to change the header tags only of the widgets in the footer ?

If you are more interested in having control over all aspects of the footer I suggest that you consider the Pro theme which has a Footer builder and you can use various elements to create a footer.
Kindly check the Elements section of our documentation to learn more on which elements you can use on Pro Header/Footer builders.
