I’m having a hard time putting a border around a menu item, it goes as wide as the container instead of around the text.
Also, can I get some advice on how to make these social icons to look better? I wanted to put them into a row but can’t figure out how to do that using the footer builder as there is now extra row element like there is in the content builder. If I set the container to row, it messes up the rest of the items in the container.

Space can be from paddings on text or Flex layout settings.
For the social icons on footer, container Flex Layout should be like this:
Then headline element width should be set to 100%.
