I have a footer I’ve built, with a black background. Every time I preview the site, the background of the footer doesn’t show and just appears white. I’ve checked as many settings as I can think of, and I cannot figure out why the black background won’t show. I even rebuilt it, and it still won’t display the right color.
Hey @lysajgoodman,
If you’ve set a background for your section in the footer, the issue is highly likely caused by Style Cache. Please try clearing the style cache following the instruction provided here https://theme.co/docs/site-appears-broken-after-updates#element-style-cache-problem
If that doesn’t help, kindly provide the following info in a Secure Note
- WordPress Login URL
- Admin username and password
You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.
Thanks.
This did not resolve the problem. I’ve already added a secure note with the login details. I’d appreciate any suggestions you have to fix the issue.
Hello @lysajgoodman,
I checked your site, but I can not access the admin dashboard. It looks like you have not provided the admin login details. I can see the Footer color has been set to white at the moment. In case you want to change it, you can add custom CSS code to Global CSS.
footer.x-colophon {
background-color: #000000;
}
The purpose of providing custom CSS is to show you how to add CSS code to your site. Writing custom CSS is outside the scope of our theme support. If you need more customization, you need to learn CSS and learn how to use the browser’s element inspector. If you have no idea about coding, you can subscribe to One, where customization questions are answered.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
