Font manager not working

As with the previous version of Pro, the font manager is still broken.

Many other topics already relate the issues without any solution for everyone to read or a quick fix / workaround. Here are the issues:

  • Font manager is turned on and fonts are setup as Title, Headings and Body
  • Either fonts will not load with the right weight, or just not load the correct font at all
  • Switching from “Inherited” to a specific template does not do the trick
  • In typography, turning font manager off and saving, then back on and saving again does not do the trick either
  • To make things worse, the previous step creates duplicates of the fonts templates, so the font manager ends up having 2x Body, 2x Heading, 2x Title, … And deleting those creates errors in the form of red warning boxes

I have to disable the Font Manager (and cannot get my 3-fonts website to work in the meantime). Not mentioning that color templates are not currently implemented Pro-wide (like section background color, headings color, …). Basically, Pro is pretty useless to me as is.

I can wait for an update for the color templates, but please have the font manager fixed. This is critical for many of us! Thank you.

PS : i would gladly send you my L/P, but frankly, I doubt it has something to do with Pro settings.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

Our developers are aware of this issue and they are on it. Unfortunately, as support, we’re not sure what’s causing this as this seems to be internal so we can’t provide any temporary fix. I’ll continue checking about this and let you know once a temporary fix is available.

Thanks!

Agreed that all these problems are still happening. Just want to give this a little bump to make sure this is counted as a high priority for the development team. Font management is a great idea that should be working.

FYI, in the header builder, the font manager override (switching from Inherited to “Navigation” as I have set up) does appear to work. But it’s only in the Header builder so far that I see this working as expected. Perhaps the dev team could look to the way this is being achieved to apply the same functionality to the Typography section in the theme options.

Again, this is a critical function. Please do continue to prioritize stability in this area. Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback. Please stay tuned for updates.

I thought I’d come back to this after experimenting with the font manager again after the release of 1.2.0. The issue seems to have been resolved now. I haven’t tested every possible scenario obviously, but so far it looks to be working now. If I do find an issue, I will update this thread and I encourage anyone else to do the same.

HI there,

Glad it’s okay now and yes, please let us know if you find issue regarding this. We’ll be more glad to help

Thanks!

There seems to be a issue still when using the inherited setting. Also when on the latest release, only two font weights (bold (500?), regular (300/400?) seem to be displayed even when all are enabled in the font manager.

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. To make things crystal clear and being able to follow up the case correctly to report if there are any bugs, kindly open up a new thread and give detailed information with screenshots of the settings you have done and see the error.

Also, it will be helpful if you give us the URL/User/Pass of your website using the secure note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

We will try to recreate the problem on your installation and ours to make sure it is not environment related case then we will generate a bug report if needed.

Thank you for your cooperation.
