Font for Czech or Polish is not being shown well

As one image worth more than thousand words, here we go:

What do you recommend in these cases?

Thanks

Carlos

Hey Carlos,

It looks like those characters aren’t supported by the font you’re using or you haven’t loaded the subsets in the Font settings.

Enable the required subsets first and if it does not work, the only solution to that is to change the Font Family because otherwise, you need to hire a font designer to create a font for you that supports the characters that you need.

To check what characters a Google Font Family supports, go to https://fonts.google.com/?category=Display. Then, click on the font and see the Glyphs.

Hope that helps.

Thanks!!

I’ve enabled subsets and cyrillic (and clear cache), but it doesn’t fix the issue.

The fonts we are using:

  1. https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Permanent+Marker --> It does NOT support glyphs like “š”: any idea about finding a very similar Google Font?
  2. https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Josefin+Sans --> It supports glyphs like “š”, but they are not being shown on the website: any idea of why and how to fix it?

This is the URL by the way: https://www.edinventa.com/cs/heromask-jazyky-matematika/

Thanks so much!!

Hey @educainventions,

You’re seeing the cached version of your page. Your home page, for example, still shows broken characters while a new test page I’ve created on your site shows the Cyrillic character properly. Please have your web host clear all caches in your site. Please note that this is not an issue with our theme and I’ve already shown that my suggestion works.

Regarding finding a similar font, regretfully, we don’t have an idea. Please find similar fonts in https://fonts.google.com/. Setting the correct Category might help you out.

Hope that helps.

You’re right. By creating a new page, it’s being shown correctly.

Also, in the PRO editor, it’s being shown correctly.

But not in the result page.

I’ve contacted to our hosting as well. They have cleared caches, but still same issue.

Maybe some conflict between WPML and PRO?

I haven’t any extra ideas? Maybe you have some idea?

Weird!

Thanks for your help man!

Carlos
